Blooming Buds School created awareness among Students on ‘World AIDS Day’
Blooming Buds School, a renowned educational institution of Moga city celebrated World AIDS Day with great enthusiasm and a message of awareness. The special event was organized under the inspiring leadership of Group Chairman Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Saini and Chairperson Mrs. Kamal Saini, during which students presented important information about AIDS through charts, articles, and slogans.
On this occasion, Principal Dr. Hamiliya Rani provided detailed information to the children about the causes, prevention, and awareness regarding AIDS. She informed them that World AIDS Day is observed every year on December 1. The celebration of this day began in 1988, and it is considered the world’s first international health-related day. This day was initiated by two young public health officials of the World Health Organization (WHO) and UNAIDS — James W. Bunn and Thomas Netter — who believed that the rapid spread of AIDS could be prevented only by giving people accurate information about it.
The main objective of celebrating this day is to provide people with correct information about HIV/AIDS — how it spreads, how it does not spread, and how it can be prevented. People living with HIV/AIDS often face discrimination in society. World AIDS Day teaches society to show understanding and support for them. Millions of people around the world have lost their lives due to HIV/AIDS. They are remembered and honored on this day. People are encouraged to help, care for, and motivate those living with HIV/AIDS.
World AIDS Day brings together various countries, organizations, schools, hospitals, and governments to work collectively against HIV/AIDS. This day reminds people to adopt safe practices to prevent HIV/AIDS, get tested, and ensure timely treatment so that patients can live long and healthy lives. All staff members and students were present on this occasion.
