Blooming Buds School, Moga Paid Tribute on the 350th Martyrdom Day of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji

The Martyrdom of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji is an Eternal Inspiration for Humanity: Saini

Blooming Buds School, Moga, a renowned educational institution arranged a special assembly dedicated to the 350th martyrdom day of ‘Hind di Chadar’ Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji under the leadership of Group Chairman Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Saini and Chairperson Mrs. Kamal Saini.

The event began with the children singing “Deh Shiva Var Mohe Eh”, which filled the entire atmosphere with spirituality. On this occasion, students presented beautiful charts and articles related to the life of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, his supreme sacrifice, and his unparalleled place in Sikh history.

The children shared that Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji was born on April 1, 1621, in Amritsar. He was the ninth Guru of the Sikh faith, and his childhood name was Tyag Mal. Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji and Mata Nanaki Ji were his parents. He was married to Mata Gujri Ji, and in their home was born the tenth Guru, Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji.

School Principal Dr. Hamiliya Rani informed the students about the great sacrifice of Guru Sahib, which wrote a new chapter in the history of humanity. She explained that when the Kashmiri Pandits, distressed by Aurangzeb’s tyranny, sought refuge with Guru Sahib, he decided to lay down his life to protect humanity and religion. With the inspiration of the nine-year-old Gobind Rai (later Guru Gobind Singh Ji), Guru Sahib accepted this supreme sacrifice.

Guru Sahib was pressured in Aurangzeb’s court to forcibly accept Islam, but he remained steadfast in his faith and preferred giving his head over submitting to oppression. Finally, at Chandni Chowk, he was beheaded. Today, this sacred place is known as Gurdwara Sheesh Ganj Sahib.

Punjabi teacher Dr. Prabhjot Kaur shared that the teachings of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji remain inspirational for humanity even today. Guru Sahib taught that ‘humanity’ is the greatest religion. He stood for fearlessness, sacrifice, tolerance, and truth. He is called ‘Hind di Chadar’ because he gave the ultimate sacrifice for the protection of the religious and social freedom of the entire nation.

The life of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji is not only an example of sacrifice but also a living symbol of spirituality, peace, patience, and dedication to righteousness. Through hundreds of hymns and verses, he encouraged people to live a life free from fear and illusion, to walk on the path of truth, and to remain steadfast. His writings are enshrined in the Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.

It is worth mentioning that through such programs, the school aims to inform the younger generation about religion, history, and the sacrifices of the great Gurus—an important responsibility. The school conducts such events from time to time to instill respect, values, and love for humanity among children.
