Blooming Buds School celebrated Holi festival

Students performed colorful activities on chart – Principal

The festival of Holi was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Blooming Buds School, Moga under the guidance of Group Chairman Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Saini and Chairperson Mrs. Kamal Saini. The celebration filled the campus with colors, joy, and learning activities for the young students. Students prepared Holi-themed charts and drawings and presented short articles explaining the significance of the festival. They shared that the holy festival of Holi is associated with the ancient story of King Hiranyakashipu, a cruel and atheistic ruler who forced his subjects to worship him. However, his own son Prahlad was a devoted follower of Lord Vishnu. Angered by this, Hiranyakashipu planned to kill Prahlad with the help of his sister Holika. Holika sat with Prahlad on a burning pyre wearing a magical cloak that was supposed to protect her from fire. However, the cloak protected Prahlad instead, and Holika was burned in the flames. Later, Lord Vishnu took the Narasimha avatar and killed Hiranyakashipu, symbolizing the victory of good over evil. In many parts of India, this event is commemorated by lighting a bonfire on the night before Holi, known as Holika Dahan. On this occasion, School Principal Dr. Hamiliya Rani explained that Holi is the festival of colors and spreads happiness among people. The students of Nursery, LKG, and UKG participated in creative activities such as painting and coloring charts with different colors. She also advised students to celebrate Holi using herbal or natural colors, as synthetic colors can be harmful to the skin and eyes. Furthermore, she emphasized that water should not be wasted during Holi celebrations, as conserving water is extremely important for everyone. At the end of the event, Holi greetings were extended to all students and staff members present at the celebration.
