The 77th Republic Day and the 150th anniversary of the national song ‘Vande Mataram’ were celebrated at Blooming Buds School, a renowned educational institution in Moga city, under the leadership of Group Chairman Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Saini and Chairperson Mrs. Kamal Saini. A function was organized by the students and the entire staff to celebrate Republic Day. In this event, BBS Group Chairman Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Saini and Chairperson Mrs. Kamal Saini participated as chief guests. The ceremony began with Chairman Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Saini and Chairperson Mrs. Kamal Saini hoisting the tricolor and the school flag respectively. Along with this, the national anthem was performed by the school choir. Students holding tricolor flags in their hands performed a march past, which was led by the school captains, the bagpiper band, and the NCC contingent, and they saluted the national flag. During the function, Group Chairman Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Saini and Chairperson Mrs. Kamal Saini jointly congratulated everyone on Republic Day. Further increasing the knowledge of the students, Chairperson Mrs. Kamal Saini said that this year this Republic Day has been celebrated under the theme ‘Mantra of Independence, Vande Mataram – Mantra of Prosperity, Self-Reliant India’. She said that just as the song ‘Vande Mataram’ had infused enthusiasm in the freedom fighters, similarly if India wants to become a prosperous country, it needs to achieve self-reliance in every field and India is continuously moving forward with this thinking. On this occasion, Chairman Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Saini also congratulated all the people of India on the 77th Republic Day and the 150th anniversary of the national song ‘Vande Mataram’. He told the students that this national song ‘Vande Mataram’ was written by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay in 1870. This song is included in the novel ‘Anandamath’ written by him, which was published in 1882. It was first sung by Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore in 1896 at the Congress session in Calcutta. On 24 January 1950, the Constituent Assembly of India officially adopted it as the National Song. School Principal Dr. Hamiliya Rani shared information about the history of this day and while addressing the gathering, she explained that a constitution means the rules established within any country; if every person follows the established rules, then that nation remains prosperous. Providing historical information, she stated that the first Republic Day was celebrated on 26 January 1950, three years after gaining independence. The Constitution was adopted by the Indian Constituent Assembly on 26 November 1949, under the leadership of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. It came into effect on 26 January 1950. She mentioned that the Indian Constitution is the longest written constitution in the world. On this occasion, students of Nursery, L.K.G., and U.K.G. recited poems. U.K.G. children presented a group dance to ‘Dil Hai Hindustani’, second-class children to ‘India Waale’, and senior children to ‘Salaam India’ and ‘Tiranga’ songs. Senior students presented a choreography on the theme ‘New Generation-Old Generation’. At the end of this event, Group Chairman Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Saini and Chairperson Mrs. Kamal Saini distributed chocolates to all students and staff.
